What is a Pop of Color?
I’m sure you’ve heard people say, “I want a color that pops!” and I’m sure you’ve said it a thousand times yourself. I know I have. So what exactly happens when color “pops”? Let’s talk.
Color that pops is just referring to a visual and not a sound of course. Pop is just when you can see a high contrast between two colors and this can be seen in my Peppermint Patty post on dark brown and white.

Hope you enjoyed a little information on color that pops. If you need help with your popping colors, I’d be happy to help. Donna Frasca, Color Specialist in Charlotte.

Notes from the hots: Donna and I initially connected via Twitter where even her little avatar seemed to just jump from the stream. As @Color4Charolette you can find her frequently engaged is some of the social medium’s more prominent Chats. She regularly dishes (yep, pun) advice on design, decorating as well as color. Her Color Recipes blog concept – brilliant. Give a follow, say hi. I know I hope to have her back over here at BMoxie again. To you — great day and thanks for reading. ~jb

Hello Donna, this article was forwarded to me by my assistant. Great original article about color contrast, the writing, the pictures…Bravo. What really caught my eye was your use bright colored circles in your graphics. These videos are older but you might enjoy seeing the interior estimate video (lower right corner) at about the 51 sec mark you see how I use the circle in my bid documents..

John, it’s hard to stand out from the all the other Designers, after all, we’re all talking about the same thing but it’s how we present our ideas that will make us unique.
I enjoy writing my blogs in a very conversational style which appeals to many and comforts those who are fearful of the ‘fancy schmancy’ designers. I’m here for the homeowner so I use any graphics that I think will help get my point across – as clearly as possible.
Thank you for the kinds works … I appreciate it! Now I’ll go check out your circles :-)
Great post. Thank you so much for sharing.
